Samsung 980 Pro is the SSD it is very much useful for building high-end gaming or work machines with enormous performance. It doesn’t cost too much more than other SSD in the market.

Samsung 980 Pro is the fastest flash-based SSD with the combination high-performance controller and speedy PCIe 4.0 interface which gives the massive performance. It is powered by an 8nm  NVMe SSD controller and the company’s V6 V-NAND.

It’s rated speed of up to 7/5 GBps of sequential read/write throughput and 1million IOPs.

The 980 Pro shows that Samsung will not no longer use a 2-bit MLC flash MLC flash in the design. The 980 Pro uses a 3-bit TLC flash to reduce costs and to give high-end evolution of the more economical 970 Evo Plus series. Its newest 1xx-layer V6 V-NAND 3-bit TLC lines to new heights and brings impressive performance in the market.

The 980 Pro comes with the certified efficient and responsive performance in company with AES 256-bit security for gamers and prosumers alike.

EXAMINE:

The 980 Pro is powered with an M.2 2280 form factor and features a quality black PCB and components. The SKU numbers on the top sticker take away from the aesthetic appeal of the 980 Pro. They used a copper heat spreader on the backside of the device to help absorb thermal load and workloads and make the SSD cool. Additionally, the controller is nickel coating to improves cooling by roughy 7%

The drive also supports Active State Power Management (ASPM), Autonomous Power State Transition (APST), and the L1.2 ultra-low power mode to regulate overall power consumption, as well as further refinements to dynamic thermal guard (DTG) technology that allows you to write for longer without the device slowing down.

The SSD controller, dubbed Elpis measures 16.5 x 16.5mm and features a DRAM-based multi-core Arm architecture built on Samsung’s 8nm manufacturing process node.
