Google map comes up with a new feature that shows the number of cases in the area. This feature is very useful to the google users to get away from the contamination zones or to help the users to make decisions on whether to go to that place or not. This feature is known as
COVID LAYER. The new feature will be available in its update this week on both android and iOS.GOOGLE MAPS NEW FEATURE
The user will have the option to tap on the layers button on the top right-hand corner of the screen and click on the “Covid-19 info”. It shows the seven-day average of new COVID-19 cases per 100,000 people for the area of the map the user looking for that will be labeled and that indicates whether the cases are trending up or down.
The data will be available for all the 220 countries and territories the density of the cases can be indicated by the color-coding. There are country or state or province and city-level data where available.
Google says that the data are collected from a different number of sources, including Johns Hopkins, The New York Times, and Wikipedia, and also they get their information from local and intergovernmental government organizations, government health ministries, along with state and local health agencies, and hospitals.GOOGLE MAPS NEW FEATURE
Due to the rapid rise of the COVID 19 cases, Google introduced this feature for the users convenience and safety. Which will be very useful to the people in critical situations.
