A recent report of the Security researchers has shown vulnerability in Apple’s T2 security chip. It was an unusual vulnerability in Apple trusted T2 security chip.

Due to this problem, it can allow the hackers to jailbreak a Mac, by this they can take full control of the system. It will also allow them to hack the iPhone which is paired with the system.

The security issue (flaw) can make an impact on the macOS platform, mainly the latest coming MacBook Air and MacBook Pro, the report says that one of the researchers have been using for over a year to jailbreak older models of the iPhone. The Flaw is unfixable in every Mac which has a T2 Security chip inside.

The T2 chip was released in 2017, it created some limitations and mysteries. Apple made the chip as the trusted mechanism for securing high-value features like encrypted data storage, Touch ID, and Activation Lock, which works with Apple’s “Find My” services.

Apart from that T2 had a vulnerability known as Checkm8, that jailbreaks have already been demolishing Apple’s A5 to A11 mobile chips in the year 2011 to 2017.

Checkra1n is one of the tech communities offering high-quality tethered jailbreak, noticed that the security T2 chip can be compromised by running Checkm8 and Blackbird, jailbreak demolish for iOS devices.

Both vulnerabilities were found in the RAM(Read-Only-Memory) part of the chip. Apple cannot release the product without rolling completely new hardware.

The Checkra1n team member tweeted on Tuesday “There are plenty of other vulnerabilities, including remote ones that undoubtedly have more impact on security.”

The important note is that rebooting the T2 will not be simple and easy users must need to check Apple’s support page to get assistance on how to reboot the chip; the simple rebooting will not work.

Rick Mark, a T2 specialist at T2Checkra1n, said that his group had sent the mail about the issue to Apple, but Apple had not responded about the issue. Rick Mark also published a timeline blog about the vulnerability in the T2 chip which he had found.

Rick Mark said “The only thing they could do is recall affected product, but they don’t have items to replace with them with,”

Ang Cui, founder of the embedded device security firm Red Balloon.“Building in hardware ‘security’ mechanisms is just always a double-edged sword,”

The situation rises continuously in the Apple Security chip then the other tech companies like Intel, Cisco, and Samsung will beat the apple through their Security chip.
