During an online event Yesterday, Apple released new iPad and Watch devices among these they released the news about the 5nm A14 SoC chip.
It will be the first chip manufactured in 5nm process mode.
It will debut with iPad Air (4th Gen) before the iPhone 12. It brings machine learning acceleration to the iPad Air.
It is packed with 11.8 billion transistors for increased performance and increased power efficiency in nearly every part of the chip.
It includes new 16-core Neural Engine that is twice as fast and capable of performing up to 11 trillion operations per second.
It includes second-generation machine learning accelerators in the CPU for 10 times faster machine learning calculations.
The combination of the new Neural Engine, CPU machine learning accelerators, and high-performance enables powerful on-device experience for image recognition, natural language learning, analyzing motion, and more.
The Additional news about the upcoming iPad Air is a power button, rather than a dedicated home button like older iPads and it comes with a new liquid retina display, Wi-Fi 6, and USB Type-C.
It offers a 40 percent boost in CPU performance and a 30 percent boost in GPU.
It has a 6-core silicon design with the logo of A14
When the A14 Bionic SoC is released and what is the expected price?
The chip will debut in the new iPad Air which will be launched for sale next month.
The expected price is starting at $599.APPLE ANNOUNCES 5nm A14
